Gruen Two Tone Dial with manual winding cal 422, a Gruen Swiss made movement cased by Gruen USA ca. 1955. The unusual case was later named by enthusiasts in reference the Sputnik satellite launch of 1957. The dial is a two tone finish, giving the effect of very pale grey against a light ivory main face. There is some light speckling evident on the dial, but this is much less noticeable when worn.

The hands are gold coloured, the hour markers are raised gold, numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock and batons for the other hours. The watch has been fitted with a contemporary strap black crocodile effect. The crown is signed Gruen.

The diameter of the case is ø 31mm and the total length of the case is around 40mm.
